Interval X Plus seems to be a substitute for Plyometrics for P90x grads.As Tony says in his intro, "Interval work is a lot more effective than standard cardiovascular exercise."Plyo is one of my favorite workouts, so I did not look forward to replacing it.This workout is only 41:30 minutes and thankfully so because it is HARD!I had to give myself extra breaks the first time I did it.There is only one break in the middle, I feel this workout needs more little breaks while the Kenpo workouts need fewer breaks, but I guess that would defeat the purpose of Intervals.

Intervals keep the heart rate moving up and down because you are moving at three different speeds.Your "rest" is doing a move at a less intense level for 20 seconds, then you pick it up for the next 20 and go full tilt for the last 20 seconds.After one move you go immediately to the next move at 20 seconds easy pace and so on. You also do Core Synergistic moves like Loading Dock and 3 Count and Prison Cell Push Ups (I HATE those!) which adds to the intensity.After a minute break, you do the same moves again but in the opposite order, so you do the Prison Cell push-ups back-to-back!Ugh!This workout is probably effective as heck, but I dread it!I will add this workout to my rotation once in a while to mix things up, but I will continue to do Plyo more often.

The Abs/Core Plus routine is great!It is 20 minutes, so it is a little longer than Ab Ripper X, but it is over in a flash because there are so many different moves you do and in different positions.You do an exercise hanging from a pull-up bar, then standing with or without light weights, then in a push-up position, and then in a sitting position.Each block of moves includes exercises in all four positions, so there is a lot of variety.It is effective, too!My question is: why is this workout included in Interval X Plus?You do not do Ab Ripper X on Plyo days, so why would you do Ab/Core Plus on Interval days?This workout should have been included on the Total Body Plus DVD.It's a pain to have to put in two different DVDs on Total Body Plus days.

I ordered Slim in 6 four months ago and soon began the program. Slowly I began seeing reults. However, I only did the program 4-5 times a week. Had I done the recommended 6 days a week I'm sure the results would have been better. Debbie is a good motivator and I never really got sick of seeing her (the niceness helps). Overall, it is a good program and will bring results if you follow the guidlines.

However, Beachbody's costumer service is HORRENDOUS. The infomercial makes it seem as if you getting all 3 dvds at the time of purchase, when you really only get 2, and then they charge you again to get the last set. I had 8 phone conversations and 4 emails with representatives because they said they fix something and never did. They even shipped and charged me for a brand new set that I never ordered! When I finally spoke with a supervisor, she was rude and impersonal. I told her then that I would never buy another product from this company until they got their act together. Her response: "Is there anything else you need today." !!!Because of this, I would never deal with Beachbody again. It is not worth the hasle and extra money being taken that has to be replaced....order it from Amazon!

P90x Plus brings a whole new tempo and attitude to the P90x workout.The two resistance workouts move lickety split with lots of new moves using weights or bands, push-up bars (optional), and pull-up bar.The Upper Plus is 41:35 long, so it is almost 20 minutes shorter than most P90x resistance workouts, but it is just as intense because it moves so quickly and some of the moves work multiple parts of the body (i.e. core, arms, legs) at the same time like the "Fly Blast" and "Warrior Swim."The "Combat Push-ups" are very hard.They are military isos where you move your feet from side to side for each rep.It runs for 90 seconds, which is very difficult.What I've found with a lot of the exercises in the P90x Plus series is that they are timed rather than maximum reps, so they really test your endurance as well as strength.The "Shoulder Everything" and "Bicep Everything" where you do shoulder lifts and bicep curls in different positions isn't difficult at first, but they each run 90 seconds which really challenges one's fortitude.Traci Morrow uses dumbbells for the exercises using weights while Mark Briggs demonstrates the same moves with bands.

The Abs/Core Plus is excellent.It runs 20 minutes, so it is about 4 minutes longer than Ab Ripper X, but, unlike ARX, it does not consist of just floor exercises.Abs/Core Plus incorporates what I like to call "stations" (I've never heard that term used before, but I like to use it).You move from one "station" to the next in each round of exercises.Each round consists of an exercise hanging from the pull-up bar, standing sometimes with weights, in plank position, and on the floor.There are 5 rounds with all different movements.Most of them are 30 seconds long which is a relief when doing the hanging crunches because they are hard--especially "Mixed Bike" where you're cycling your legs while hanging.A couple of the plank exercises count repetitions.The weights used are very light (2.5 to 5 lbs for women, probably 7.5 to 15 lbs for men).Brand new moves are introduced in this workout including "Scorpion Plank" and "Cherry Bomb."New music is used in these workouts, too, but listen for the one played during "Wood Chopper"; it sounds like a whale sneezing.

I am happy to add this workout (as well as Total Body Plus) to my rotation and look forward to using it because of all the variety of moves it uses.My favorite workouts tend to fly by, and this one is definitely over before I know it, plus I feel good afterwards.Anyone who has been doing P90x for awhile will benefit by incorporating the resistance workouts in the Plus series to their regimen. I'm not a big fan of the cardio workouts in the Plus series, but they also bring a different style which is what "muscle confusion" and breaking plateaus is all about.

I received this last week and have completed all of the workouts.Some critism of two DVD's from another reviewing is noted and while it could have fit on one DVD, how can he charge so much for one, so he put it on two.Bad move, but he's making money.Speaking of which, the price is hefty, but WELL WORTH IT.Yes he stands around and talks, because HE IS YOUR PERSONAL TRAINER with this.Individual training sessions in a gym can cost up to $80/hour.He walks you through and explains the moves instead of doing them so you know you are doing them right.He's fit as can be and focuses his attention on you so you can get the same results.

The enclosed workout schedule offers a mix and match approach from one to three routines matched up daily over 4 weeks with one day off a week.10 min a day for min results, 2 routines (20 min) for improved results, and 3 routines (30 min) for max results.Bands are optional but included.My doors are old and so I use weights and or omit the bands.This system is perfect for me.I also have his p90x and love it as well, but sometimes don't have the time to do it.

You can increase or decrease intensity based on your needs and that's why I like it.For total or lower body, my strength, I push it.For upper body and abs, my weakness, I rest and use his modified moves that he shows you, and I can still feel it.YOU CAN GROW WITH THIS PROGRAM and that's why it's pretty cool.Busy, one 10 minute workout and you'll feel it.More time, then do two or three.

As usual for most every workout, the warm up and cool down are short, so I always do it twice or just keep going on my own.Also, his Yoga is a combo of simple yoga for stretching and can be done daily as it really improves flexibility.I can't believe I wrote this much about the program after one week, but it got me off my butt and working out again after I moved and have not worked out in about three months.A+ Tony...and THANKS!

I bought the Pull-up bar for use with p90x and it has performed exactly as advertised. It is very sturdy and does not move even with my weight of 210 lbs.
