(More customer reviews)I now have two hoops that I love.The first one is the 8 piece "Pocket" hoop by Troo Hoops which unfortunately isn't sold on-line by Amazon.While it can be purchased directly from the Troo Hoops website, I went to the NYC store for a custom made hoop and to survey the quality first hand.It is beautiful, study and should hold up to long term abuse.Unfortunately, it was twice the price of my 2nd favorite hoop: the Sport Hoop "Trim Hoop" 4B.While the Pocket Hoop is only 1.6lbs, the Trim Hoop is 3.9lbs (a little less than the advertised 4 lbs) and I really like the heavier weight.The extra heft makes it easier to keep it up and spinning.I also like the foam cushioning.With regard to the "bruising" complaints of other users, this hoop doesn't have the waves/ridges of some of the other Sport Hoop brand offerings.In addition, the box recommends that novice hoopers restrict their hoop practice to no more than two intervals of 10 minutes per day for the first two weeks which should enable their bodies to become accustomed to the impact of the weight.I would definitely recommend this as a great starter hoop for new hoopers focused on fitness rather than dance/tricks.

I have never seen anything like this. I have always just used home gyms! This is cool though.
