(More customer reviews)My wife occasionally takes on a personal training client and works out with them in our unfinished basement.Up until now they've used a couple of small pilates mats for the ground work, or the plain cement for aerobic work.I bought and installed the 192 square feet of mat and it's been a great addition to the basement.
On the positive side, the mats are very light, clean, easy to assemble, and have no odor (at least mine didn't).The charcoal color is dark enough to look like a workout mat, but light enough to hide dust and blemishes that would stand out on a black mat.192 square feet allows 2-4 people to work out on the mat without getting in each other's way.Exercising on a mat provides a noticeable improvement in body fatigue and comfort, especially when compared to cement.
These are not thick enough for any sort of tumbling or extreme rough housing.When my boys and I fight/wrestle on it I would say it's slightly less comfortable than the carpeted areas in the rest of the house.The surface can be a little slippery if you're barefoot or only wearing socks.I would plan on exercising while wearing light shoes.The mat also seems a little too fragile to put weights on it, especially for storage.
I'm very happy with this purchase and recommend this product for an easy upgrade to unfinished exercise spaces in your home.
